Nothing is completely safe. Almost anything we dump down our drains, even if derived, can cause problems. Don't accept vague claims. Words like "biodegradable" or "non -toxic" have no legal definitions. Check the contents on the back of skincare, toiletries and cleaning products and avoid worrying chemicals

We recommend that consumers seek out chemical safe alternatives to their toiletries and cleaning products. Green cleaning products such as Ecover use surfactants derived from vegetable oils.
